    Ladies cycle tour 1908

Hello I’m a Local bike tour

I’m located in the historic Burgwal neighborhood right in the middle of the center of Haarlem – not very far from the beaches, the Keukenhof, and the Zaanse Schans, and direct connections to Amsterdam and Schiphol.
Bikes can safely be stored on my private patio or in my garage. You can rent a real ‘granny bike’ here from my small fleet of rentals.
On the way to the Bloemendaal en Zandvoort beaches you go through the dunes in South-Kennemerland National Park, ideal to visit by bike. There are more magnificent cycle tours in and around Haarlem: past impressive windmills, pretty farms, the Spaarne river, through old Spaarndam, or past the ruins of the 13th century Brederode Castle. Visit nearby Overveen, Bennebroek, Heemstede, Schalkwijk or Vijfhuizen.
It’s pretty much flat everywhere, so it’s easy cycling. But if you’re up for a bit of a climb there is a fantastic view of the entire area from the tower at the top of the hill called ‘The Top of Bloemendaal’.
On the IJdijk (a dike in old Spaarndam village) you can find the statue of Hans Brinker. This young man, legend says, kept his finger in the dike all night long – becoming a hero for protecting his town and his country against the threatening sea.
The ladies in the photo made a lovely costumed bike tour around Haarlem in 1908.
